Let's learn about the Roman border defense of the Danube Bend! Exhibition in the old transformer house<\/h3>\n

At the end of the road, visitors arriving on foot, by bicycle or by car are greeted not only by the remaining walls of the former Roman fort and one of the corner towers built as a sign. In the renovated old transformer house, an exhibition awaits those interested, which invites you on an exciting journey through time to the borderland of the Roman Empire and the mysterious ancient past of Ver\u0151ce.<\/p>\n

With the help of the exhibition, visitors can learn about the defense system of the Danube bend and the exciting history of the discovery and research of the Ver\u0151ce harbor fortress. Spectacular 3D graphics and reconstructions help to imagine the former image of the fort, which today mostly only survives in its foundation walls. Copies of the most important findings found during archaeological research can also be viewed in the exhibition. Among them, a bronze balance scale depicting a double human face, an elaborate bronze candlestick and a bone comb stand out. A glass vessel from ancient Syria once contained expensive perfume, which was considered a real luxury item in the Danube region. Among the finds, there are objects used and worn by the local Germans, indicating the lively system of contact between the Romans and the neighboring peoples, which was characteristic of the border region of the Roman Empire in both times of peace and war. The exhibited objects, tableaus and reconstructions guide the visitor into the far from harmless everyday life of the forward garrison of the Ver\u0151ce harbor fortress.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n\n\t
